The New Color of Fashion - Orange!

It's warm.  It's lively.  It's got ENERGY and a funkiness about it.  It's....ORANGE!  Not the easiest color to pull off in large quantity (unless you are Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Aniston), but it is so perfect as an accent or accessory to give your look a little POP!

Orange can be fun and playful; it's intensely charged: and it can convey gobs of sexual energy (again, note picture).

Artists love dabbling with orange hues because of it's expressive qualities.  If you're into chakras, orange is the color associated with the Sacral Chakra (the region between the lower abdomen and the navel) which helps one to maintain balance in their lives, initiating change to gain order.

Leather Cuffs

[caption id="attachment_880" align="alignleft" width="150" caption="Parrot Blue on 1/2" Leather Cuff"][/caption]

NO, I'm not talking anything crazy here - just fun fashion!  I am loving the leather cuff bracelets that I've been making lately.  They are SO comfortable, SO cool looking, and they won't break your bank!!

The colors are gorgeous - either mouth-watering and bright, or calm and soothing.  I create a channel within the glass layers so I can thread the sterling silver wire through the glass cabochon to attach it to the cuff.  Sweet little pewter flowers or discs embellish the ends of the glass.

A Marriage of Art and Technology

[caption id="attachment_660" align="alignleft" width="160" caption="Hockney creating art on his iPad"][/caption]

One of my favorite artists, David Hockney, is now creating his vibrant art on his iPad.   I have been drawn to his bright paintings utilizing bold colors and uncomplicated visuals since the late 90's when I was going to Interior Design school.  There I figured out that what I really appreciate is clean design.

Cleavage Enhancers

There are times to be subtle and there are times to show off what you got.  Can you do both at the same time?  I think so. There is a lot to be said for understated elegance and style, but sometimes you want to call attention to certain aspects of yourself!  The neck, décolletage and bustline can be great areas to highlight.

I've designed some understated, but none-the-less, attention-stealing pendants.  They're long, graceful and sexy.  I love the clean look achieved by creating channels within each pendant for the chain to pass through.  It gives the feeling that they are floating on the neck.
